Laura and I flew to St. Augustine to visit my parents for the week of Thanksgiving. We flew out of Philadelphia on Southwest Airlines because the fare was significantly less than flying out of Newark on Continental.
I took the opportunity to shoot some pictures out the window of the plane. This was the first time I've flown since 1999, so obviously I don't get the chance to do aerial photography very often.
We were seated over the wing, which is a pretty good spot to sit, I think. You don't get so much of the noise of the jet here.
It's a little unnerving, though, to realize that you're sitting maybe fifteen feet from something that has this kind of warning on it. I like the little "no people" symbol.
There was actually another plane that came much closer to ours on the flight, with a much more impressive contrail, but I didn't have the presence of mind to get a shot of that, so this will have to do.
Clouds kind of look the same from the top as they do from the bottom, except that the lighting tends to be much better on the top side.
