Geneablogy: An occasional Journal about our experiences exploring our heritage

More cleaned up stuff that’s been sitting on my hard drive. I found the birth record [page 1 | page 2] for my 3G Grandmother, Maria Navarro, who was married to Filippo Brandi and was the mother of Vincenzo. She was born on 14 Sep 1824 to Giuseppe Navarro, a 22 year old waiter (cameriere) and his wife Pasqualina Melillo, 18 years old. They lived on Strada Chiesa Anuovo, as did the witnesses, Pietro Leggiero and Salvadore Pito. It appears that Giuseppe was literate, because he signed his name on the birth record. Giuseppe would have been born around 1802, and Pasqualina would have been born around 1806, both before the earliest date of the records available from the LDS. But given that Pasqualina was 18 when Maria was born in 1824, I expect that I’ll be able to find their marriage record without any trouble and be able to take the line back one more generation.
