We had a spectacular sunset Saturday evening, October 6, 2001.

It had been rainy and miserable and overcast for much of the day, but the late afternoon saw the first signs of clearing and blue skies.

I grabbed the camera and went outside. Our next door neighbors were out with their camera, too.

Words seem kind of superfluous for some of these pictures.

Living at the end of a cul-de-sac, we've got a pretty good view of the horizon. We don't get great views of sunsets during the summer because the sun is blocked then by our neighbors' houses, but between October and about April, the view is excellent
