There's no doubt about it, the pelican is a truly ridiculous and ugly bird.

I had a little trouble figuring out exactly what was what in this shot, but once you sort it out, you can see that the pelican's wing is partially obscuring his head shortly before he hits the water.

The pelican hits the water, stunning his prey.
